Important Update
On July 7th 2023 an individual threw a brick covered in swastikas and profane messages through the kitchen window of the Chabad Jewish Center
Security camera footage shows an unidentified individual emerging from a vehicle stopped in around the corner of Chabad, and heading to the side of the building and throwing it at the window.
The individual then returns to the waiting vehicle which then drives off.
At this time we are not aware of any safety threats on the Chabad facilities or its members, but we remain vigilant and aware.
We are in constant communication with law-enforcement agencies who have already opened an investigation into this incident.
The Chabad Jewish Center is a place of kindness and unity and is aimed at increasing light and positivity throughout Pensacola.
This troubling incident only underscores once more that while the work of spreading light and kindness is making strides, still much more needs to be done so that darkness is banished entirely.
Coupled with all the appropriate precautions we are forging forward in confidence, to make sure our work will continue with only more vigor and determination.
Stay tuned for the Light Up Pensacola campaign being launched shortly.
